Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal right after treatment and usually subside within an hour. Over the next 24 to 48 hours there may be a darkening of pigmented spots, and during the following week those pigmented lesions will flake off and lead to an evening out of skin tone. After vascular lesion treatment you may see the vein blanch and disappear, or a color change in the vessel that will dissipate in a few days.

Most patients do not experience any side effects, and any skin reaction usually resolves within a few hours. Sunlight sensitivity is common immediately after treatment, and it is recommended to avoid direct sunlight and tanning.

Significant improvement in complexion and skin clarity is usually noticeable a few days after the first treatment, with the most visible results in one to two weeks. For vascular treatments such as spider or leg veins, it may take up to two weeks to see a distinct difference.
